Scott began classical piano lessons at the early age of 6, becoming interested in more portable electronic instruments after puberty. Scott minored in music at Ohio Wesleyan University, and moved to California to pursue a Master's degree at the University of Redlands Conservatory of Music, studying under the accomplished Barney Childs. While there, inspired by John Cage he challenged the bounds of music by writing "California Rain", created holding staff paper outside during a storm. Scott plays bass, piano, guitar, and just about anything he can get his hands on. Scott likes to play with others. Sometimes he plays with himself.
